Trophy Hunting In The Texas Panhandle

Terrain
As I said before the Panhandle resembles Kansas more than
most other regions of Texas.  Antelope country here in the
Panhandle typically consists of the shortgrass prairies, rolling
sandhills, and the farmland that borders these areas.

Tactics And Setups
Spot and stalk is the #1 tactic for hunting Panhandle Antelope.
Our Antelope constantly travel over their large home ranges.
Catching up with them requires covering a lot of real estate.
This  is done by driving and or walking to vantage points and
glassing the vast terrain. Typical shots from these setups will be
100-200yds, but due to the open terrain there will often be shot
opportunities 200-400yds.
Another common setup we use is to setup on farm field edges
next to the open buffalo grass pastures.  This tactic usually
consists of setting up on field edges where the antelope leave
the field to  go to water.  Setting up on a water source is also
very effective here, due to the scarcity of water.  Hunting water
is the only way we hunt antelope with archery equipment.

Properties
Our Antelope properties vary from wide open rangeland to
broken farmland.   Properties range from 600-10'000 acres, with
plenty of antelope on all of our properties.  Harvest numbers are
set by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for each property
with permits being issued to the landowners.  TPWD has a very
conservative permitting system insuring plenty of mature
animals in the area where a permit is issued.

What Can I Expect
First let me say that you can expect to have a really good time on
our antelope hunts, this is my personal favorite hunt.  Mild
weather, abundant game, and relaxing hunting styles, set the
stage for a laid back fun hunt.  Every hunter to hunt antelope
with us has had  opportunity to harvest an animal big enough to
make Texas Big Game Awards. Though horn growth varies from
year to year, a buck with 14"- 15.5" horns can be expected, with
an occasional 16"+ being harvested.  This is a high percentage
hunt with 100% opportunity and 95%+ harvest each year.  This is a
great hunt for introducing new comers to our sport.
