Booking Procedures and Policies

Booking Your Hunt
  • All hunts are booked on a first come, first serve basis.  We will hold your reservation for no more
than ten days without a deposit.
  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a date.  Balance is due upon arrival in the form
of cash, cashiers check, or travelers check.  No exceptions!
  • Deposits are non-refundable, unless hunter can be replaced at full price. It is not 4FO's obligation to
replace hunter if cancellation takes place. If hunter is replaced at full price, your deposit will be
returned minus a 10% 4F service charge.  Upon receipt of deposit, we will send a confirmation
packet including written receipt of payment, confirmation letter, and contract.

Preparing For Your Hunt
  • Mental and physical preparation are key to ensuring that you have an enjoyable productive hunt.
  • The Texas Panhandle weather is very unpredictable all year long, with the wind blowing being your
only safe bet.  It can be in the 80's one day and snowing the next. It even came a white out snow
during spring turkey season one year.  You should bring your warmest cold weather gear as well as
short sleeve camo on any of our big game hunts.
  • PRACTICE SHOOTING!  You owe it to yourself, as well as the animal and the 4F staff, to practice at
least once a week for the  month leading up to your hunt.  Typical shots on all of our big game hunts
are 100-200yds, but due to the open terrain there will often be shot opportunities 200-400 yards.  I
highly recommend practicing and learning your rifle out to 300 yards, not only from a bench, but also
from typical shooting positions and from a bipod or shooting sticks.  I personally prefer a bipod, but
one or the other is a must in this open country.

Travel
  • Transportation to and from the Amarillo airport is included, but arrival and departure times are
conditional, so check ahead of time and we will try and match up schedules.

Camp and Hunt Policies
  • Everyone's safety is first and foremost.  Drinking of alcoholic beverages is not allowed until the days
hunt has ended, and 4FO reserves the right to terminate a hunt if the client is not of safe mind and
    being.
  • We do enforce a wounded animal policy on all big game hunts.  If you draw blood, it's yours.

Gratuities
  • Gratuities for guides and cooks are customary.  Normal amounts vary, but here is a general
    suggestion.
        HUNT PRICE                                     GRATUITY AMOUNT/HUNTER
        UP TO $1500                                    $75-$150(GUIDE)/$30-$50 (COOK)
        $1500-$3000                                    $100-$200(GUIDE)/$40-$75(COOK)
        $3000-$5000                                    $150-$250 (GUIDE)/$60-$100(COOK)

Shipping of Trophies
  • Should 4F have to ship cape, antlers, or meat to clients requested destination, client will be charged
for shipping charges, as well as a 4F charge for crating and handling.
